The Cabana Club South is a community based pool open from late May through September each year. Currently seeking a Pool Manager, all other positions are closed now.

Pool Manager

Work Availability

Hiring priority is given to qualified, responsible applicants with good availability to work days, evenings, and weekends. Priority is also given to applicants who can work the shoulder seasons of May/early June and September.

Hiring Is Done for the Season

Lifeguards

Lifeguard applicants must be 15 by May 1st, 2023 to apply.

Rate of Pay: $17.50-19.50/hour depending on experience
Hours: 15-20 hours a week during summer hours

Lifeguard duties include the following:

Actively supervise the pool and enforce safety rules
Perform first aid and water rescues as needed
Clean bathrooms, clubhouse and outside area
Test pool chemicals and respond to pool maintenance needs
Attend in-service trainings each month
Must have current Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certification

Greeters

Greeter applicants must be 14 by May 1st, 2024 to apply.

Rate of Pay: $16.00/hour
Hours: 4-10 hours a week in June and July, with fewer hours in August and September

Greeter duties include the following:

Welcome and check-in members and guests
Know club rules and policies so that you can answer questions and be helpful to members and guests
Clean restrooms, clubhouse and outdoor space

Swim Instructors

Swim Instructor applicants must be 15 by May 1st, 2024 to apply.

Rate of Pay: $17.50-18.50/hour depending on experience
Hours: 10-20 hours/week. Must commit to 2 week sessions at a time that run Monday-Thursday at the same time.

Swim instructors may also work concurrently as a lifeguard.

Swim Instructor duties include:

Work with students one-on-one to teach swimming safety and stroke technique
Work with parents and caregivers to develop an appropriate lesson plan for each student
Lifeguard and first aid certification preferred

Pool Manager

The Pool Manager oversees both the lifeguard team and the swim lesson program as well as general club management. Lifeguard certification and water safety instructor certification preferred but similar experience will be taken into consideration. Previous management or leadership experience required.

Pool Manager applicants must be 18 by May 1st, 2024 to apply.

Rate of Pay: $20-25/hour depending on duties and experience
Hours: 20-30 hours per week. Weekend hours and on-call hours required.

Applicants must be available to start May 1 and work for the duration of the summer with one week off possible if needed.

Pool Manager duties include:

Lifeguard Management

The lifeguard manager will work as a lifeguard and fulfill duties noted for the lifeguard position with additional supervisory and administrative responsibility
Administrative duties include scheduling lifeguard and greeter shifts and helping to arrange shift schedule changes as needed.
Supervisory duties include training, monitoring and re-training lifeguard staff

Club Management

Identifying and coordinating repairs for any pool maintenance issues
Work closely with the board and especially the staff supervisor to maintain smooth operation of the club for the summer

Swim Program Management

Manage 6 session (8 days each) swim lesson program
Train, manage and schedule swim instructors
Create and manage swim lesson registration forms
Schedule and manage payment and refunds from clients
Respond to inquiries and concerns
Be present to check in swimmers for first day of each session
Advertise swim lesson program
Develop and coordinate any needed lesson plans and materials
Deliver session summary reports

Interview Schedule

Staff interviews are normally scheduled between March 1 – 16, 2024.

Staff Training

All employees must attend a MANDATORY ORIENTATION on May 18, 2024. The training will provide critical information on each roles responsibilities, standards of conduct and a general understanding of club operations. Thank you.
